About the Artist
Meet Lucy Bramley
Glass artist, nature lover and endlessly curious maker based in the New Forest.
My name is Lucy Bramley, and I have been enjoying glass fusing since 2013.
I’m inspired by the beauty and balance of the natural world: its colours, textures and quiet rhythms. Each piece I create in glass reflects that connection, exploring light, movement and organic form.
Working with glass allows me to capture some of the vibrancy and delicacy found in nature. The results can be wonderfully unpredictable, and that sense of discovery remains one of the things I enjoy most about the process.

Behind the Work
I create my work using fusible glass sheet, powders, frits, paints and enamels. These materials can be layered, shaped and combined in countless ways before being transformed by the heat of the kiln.
I enjoy learning and honing new techniques, experimenting with different materials and discovering new ways to represent the colours and textures found in nature.
Not every piece emerges exactly as expected, but those surprises are often part of the process. They can spark a completely new idea or lead the work in an unexpected direction.

Thoughtful Making
Sustainability at the Heart of the Process
Sustainability is an important part of my practice, from making mindful material choices to finding creative uses for leftover glass.
Offcuts, experiments and pieces that have not gone quite to plan are rarely considered waste. Instead, I look for ways to reimagine them, incorporating them into new work and allowing one idea to become the starting point for another.
